Airway Management Training
Comprehensive airway management updated per TCCC Change 24-1. Covers the simplified TFC airway algorithm: positioning, suction, and surgical cricothyrotomy. Supraglottic airways and NPA removed from TFC airway section.
- Airway assessment: patency, obstruction signs, unconscious airway compromise
- Basic maneuvers: head-tilt chin-lift, recovery position (head back, chin away from chest), sit-up lean-forward
- NPA: moved to Respiration/Breathing, only for SpO2 below 90%
- Supraglottic airways: REMOVED from TFC per Change 24-1
- RSI protocol: ketamine induction, succinylcholine vs rocuronium, confirmation
- Surgical cricothyrotomy: landmarks, vertical skin/horizontal membrane, mandatory continuous capnography
- Capnography: waveform interpretation, normal values, troubleshooting
